Information

NORTENT Varde 2 is built for those who chase adventure in wild, untamed places. Engineered for durability and confidence in harsh conditions, it stands strong across rugged mountains, remote plateaus, and windswept valleys. Designed as a highly robust shelter for two people seeking real adventure in the wild, it provides reliable protection and comfort far from the beaten path.

This is not just a tent for shelter, it’s a tent for living with the elements, not against them. With a streamlined, wind-cutting profile and generous anchoring options, Varde 2 holds its ground when weather turns fierce. It’s a trusted companion when nature shows its power, helping you not simply withstand the outdoors, but truly thrive in it.

The silhouette is clean and purposeful, blending naturally into the landscape and leaving as little trace as possible. Pitching is fast and intuitive — with a bit of practice, you’ll have a secure camp in just 5-6 minutes, ready to slip into warmth and rest after a long day outside.

Every exposed stress point on the flysheet is reinforced with Dyneema®, the world’s strongest fiber, delivering unmatched reliability where it matters most. Because out here, trust in your gear isn’t a luxury, it’s essential.

Solutions

The flysheet is made from durable silnylon and is naturally waterproof. With a strong, tightly woven fabric like this, airflow becomes especially important. Without proper ventilation, moisture from your breath and body will condense on the inside of the outer flysheet (not inside the inner tent). That’s why effective ventilation is key in all high-performance tents.

Varde 2 is equipped with four high-placed vents to ensure optimal airflow. In addition, all entrances can be partially opened at the bottom, giving you four extra low-level intake points when needed. The upper vents also serve as protective overhangs, helping shield the entrances when you want them open during rain. Every entrance can be adjusted to tailor airflow exactly to your needs and the weather.

Varde 2 offers two spacious vestibules, providing generous room for backpacks, boots and equipment for two people. The vestibule layout is also well-suited for safe and comfortable camp cooking.

Inside, you’ll find a roomy inner tent designed for real two-person comfort. It  fits two Torv 7 pads (198 × 68 cm) with extra space for clothing and gear. On cold days, the inner tent doors can be fully sealed to retain warmth. On hot days, open them for maximum ventilation while still protected by full-coverage mosquito mesh to keep insects out.

The inner tent includes multiple storage options, perfect for organizing all the small essentials that tend to disappear when traveling in the wild.

The Varde 2 gives you full control over how much of the outdoors you invite in. On calm days, both sides of the tent can be opened wide, letting nature flow through your camp and creating an open, airy shelter. When the weather turns wet or windy, you can partially close the entrances for protection while still enjoying fresh air and views. And on those classic rainy and windy days, simply close everything for complete shelter, with plenty of room in the vestibule to cook and prepare food in comfort.

One of Varde 2’s most versatile features is the ability to open the full side panels. When lifted, they form two protective overhead canopies, giving you a sheltered space to sit, relax, cook, or simply watch the wilderness unfold, fully connected to the outdoors, yet shielded from rain and wind.

The thick and very strong fabric sewn into the seams in realtions to the clips attached to the poles plays a crucial role in efficiently distributing the external forces across a larger area along the seam. When for example strong winds act on the tent, the thick reinforcement,  serves as a robust support structure.

As the wind exerts force on the tent fabric, the thick reinforcement helps disperse this force over a broader surface. This distribution of force prevents concentrated stress points and minimizes the risk of tearing or damage to the tent material. Essentially, the reinforcement acts as a buffer, absorbing and diffusing the energy generated by external forces

The large area coverage of the thick fabric along the seam is particularly significant. By extending the reinforcement along the seam, where the fabric panels are joined together, the forces are effectively spread across the entire length of the seam. This not only enhances the overall strength of the tent but also ensures that no single point along the seam bears an excessive load.

In essence, the thick reinforcement sewn into the seam functions as a strategic component, working in tandem with the thinner nylon fabric to create a resilient and wind-resistant structure. By distributing the pull and energy from the wind over a wide area along the seam, the tent becomes better equipped to withstand varying weather conditions, providing durability and reliability in challenging environments.

The orientation of the guyline straps is very intentional and based on structural reinforcement. Both the upper and lower guylines are stitched in the same direction relative to the reinforcement seam. This ensures consistent load paths and prevents shear forces from acting against each other at the seam level. If oriented differently, the seam would be exposed to conflicting stresses, reducing reinforcement efficiency.

By tying the guylines to the pole, the axial stiffness of the pole becomes the primary load carrier. This minimizes localized strain on the flysheet fabric and distributes wind forces more efficiently into the tent’s frame.

Strap positioning also follows the tent’s geometry. For example, upper straps on vent panels are placed lower to follow the vent ear’s structure, while opposite sides differ in placement to balance force distribution.

Although the top strap appears angled away from the pole, this orientation is part of the systematic reinforcement strategy. It aligns the sewing direction of both guylines, optimizes load transfer into the pole, and ensures maximum overall stability and durability under wind load.

Varde 2 is also designed for double-poling. When weather turns serious in the mountains or on open plateaus, you can quickly add a second set of poles for extra strength and stability. Without traditional pole sleeves, reinforcing the tent is simple and efficient, even with cold hands or shifting conditions.

In strong wind, heavy snow or on longer journeys where the forecast is uncertain, double-poling gives an added sense of security. The tent becomes noticeably stiffer and steadier, a quiet reassurance when the landscape is wide and the weather has a mind of its own.

It’s important to say that double-poling isn’t required. Varde 2 is fully capable and dependable with a single pole setup, built to handle demanding use as it is. But for those days when nature decides to test you a little more than usual, having the option to strengthen your shelter offers a calm confidence.

A small detail, perhaps, but one that means a lot when you’re far from the trail with wind in the guy lines and wilderness all around.

We offer an optional footprint for Varde 2. Using a footprint can extend the lifespan of the floor and shield it from potential damage, though it isn't essential for the tent's functionality. The thick and solid 70 D floor on the inner tent is both waterproof and puncture-proof. While the tent functions effectively without a footprint, some individuals prefer using one to keep mud away or to cover the vestibule floor. Footprints may play a role in preventing moisture from the ground from condensing on the inner surface of the outer tent. Our available footprints cover the entire underside of the tent, including the vestibules

NORTENT aluminum pegs are made of an aluminum alloy that promotes the proper properties of tent pegs. A tent peg should be strong, endure a lot of stress, but at the same time be somewhat flexible so that it bends instead of breaking straight by too much stress. Our stakes are therefore made of an aluminum alloy in the 7000 series. This is perhaps the market's strongest aluminum alloy, where our alloy has a degree of 7001 aluminum.. This is a degree of aluminum that promotes what we believe are important properties of a tent peg. Strong, but at the same time somewhat flexible. Our featherlite pegs are our lightest and snallest pegs at 8 g, where our stonghold pegs are biggest and heaviest at 24 g.
